Welcome to Kujala Photography, based out of Edmonton, Alberta! I always found that many people don't know how to say the name. Kujala is pronounced 'qwail-a', I also refer it to the bird that is named Quail. 

My name is Kara Kujala and I have been photographing for close to 10 years now, I started my journey in weddings, family and portrait photography. I have recently transitioned into band photography. I have found my passion of music through my lens in the past year. Starting out photographing local bands to now photographing for Concert Addicts and collaborating with other promoters and  music festivals in Alberta.

I love to capture live shows as it's the musicians performing their music through their emotions and energy. It takes trust from musicians to chose a photographer to capture their raw music that they are sharing with the world. 

When photographing I capture the little details in the bands sets,  and the lighting of the stage to create colours with shadows that creates mood, imagery and story telling.

When I am not behind the lens at local, arena and music festival shows, I am spending time with family and friends. Spending time with my puppy by taking him for walks, to the dog park and playing with him! I have also found a love for rock climbing, reading and playing guitar.
